The first element of these styles to consider is gold. Because wood was always a prominent feature in Baroque furniture, gilding was often applied and the ornamentation was almost always done in gold. This bedroom features several telling characteristics, such as the extravagant gold ornamentation atop the tufted headboard. While that is decidedly Baroque, the lavish bedding is more Rococo because it is made from silk.
For example, you can use it for writing on a notepad or knitting an article of clothing. The swing arm component of these type of lamps make it easy to spot the difference between them and the regular lamps. The swing arm component often have two horizontal bars (attached with a hinge) sticking from the lamp. This allows it to swing 360 degrees and to reach out to a certain length (depending on the lamps design).
Obviously Baroque in style, this bedroom is indeed grand and over-the-top. An ornate headboard is further enhanced with lavish draping, flanked by wall panels that include generous embellishments of several kinds. Gilded and ornamented nightstands have shorter legs and a more bombe shape, which is of the Baroque era.
This master bedroom is also quite simple in terms of interior décor. The room is slightly dark and this, in combination with the warm, earthy colors chosen for the décor, result in a very relaxing and cozy atmosphere. The simplicity of the lines, the beauty of the details and the rich textures all contribute to an overall simple and sophisticated look.
