If you are like most parents-to-be, you are not sure where to start when it comes to deciding how to plan and design the baby’s room. You should first start by determining your budget. How much money you are able or willing to spend will influence many of the decisions you make when choosing items for your baby’s room. Once you have set a budget, stick with it by making a list of all the items you plan to buy for the baby room such as furniture, bedding, art work, paint supplies, etc. and allotting a set amount of money for each of the items on your list.
Choosing the baby room furniture is an important part of planning and decorating your baby’s room. There are many options available when it comes to baby furniture, so you should to decide what functions you want the furniture to serve before you settle on the pieces for your baby’s room. How long do you plan to use the furniture? Do you want to use it for more than one baby? Do you want furniture pieces that will convert and grow with your child?
Other kinds of baby room themes are Safari theme where you could paint the walls with different kinds of animals with trees, nests on a tree, leaves, and jungle like design to keep your baby entertained by looking at them. An underwater theme is a common favorite where the walls can be painted with sea creatures. The common color used for this theme is either green or blue. A princess theme is also perfect for baby girls and you could paint different princesses to keep her amused with their beauty, beautiful gowns and costumes.
The same goes for portable size cribs which can be great if you have limited square footage to work with. Hand painted and designer cribs are also options but expect to pay more for these baby room furniture pieces. On the upside, many of these beautiful cribs could easily become family heirlooms.
