Comfort is Key; Choose your nursery glider or rocking chair carefully. Sit in as many as you can before you make a purchase. You will spend many hours sitting in this chair in the first few months, many of them in the wee hours. The last thing you need is a chair that makes your back and neck ache when you’re breastfeeding or rocking your little one to sleep.
If you are like most parents-to-be, you are not sure where to start when it comes to deciding how to plan and design the baby’s room. You should first start by determining your budget. How much money you are able or willing to spend will influence many of the decisions you make when choosing items for your baby’s room. Once you have set a budget, stick with it by making a list of all the items you plan to buy for the baby room such as furniture, bedding, art work, paint supplies, etc. and allotting a set amount of money for each of the items on your list.
The most important things to remember while you design your baby room is to create a space that you and your baby will enjoy and to have fun with the experience since designing your baby’s room is a joyful occasion that you should be able to look back on fondly.
Next, begin thinking about the look and feel that you envision for your baby’s room. Do you want to use a certain theme, style, or color scheme for the room? What are you looking for in your baby nursery furniture? Do you want furniture that will grow with your baby through their toddler and childhood years or do you want a set that will be replaced in a couple of years?
