If you are like most parents-to-be, you are not sure where to start when it comes to deciding how to plan and design the baby’s room. You should first start by determining your budget. How much money you are able or willing to spend will influence many of the decisions you make when choosing items for your baby’s room. Once you have set a budget, stick with it by making a list of all the items you plan to buy for the baby room such as furniture, bedding, art work, paint supplies, etc. and allotting a set amount of money for each of the items on your list.
The same goes for portable size cribs which can be great if you have limited square footage to work with. Hand painted and designer cribs are also options but expect to pay more for these baby room furniture pieces. On the upside, many of these beautiful cribs could easily become family heirlooms.
Power Up; Many of the gadgets and gear you will be using in your new baby nursery will require electricity. Take a look at where the plug points are in the room while you are deciding on your furniture layout. If you want a nursery lamp on the night stand is there a plug point nearby? The last thing you want is wiring trailing from one side of the nursery to the other. Not only is it ugly, it’s not safe for you or your baby.
Floral Nursery: Mix and match of bright flowers to design a cute nursery with a feminine twist. The use of a large decorative wall stickers consisting of bright colours such as purple, blue and flowers creates colourful accents across the blank wall. Butterfly shaped pictures frames displaying family photos will help pull the look feel together.
