Not sure about the difference between Baroque and Rococo? In short, Baroque refers to a period spanning from the 17th century until the beginning of the 18th century and is epitomized by Louis the XIVth and Versailles. It is opulent and a heavier style – more “serious.” Rococo is often considered a subset of the Baroque era, sometimes even called late Baroque. It is typically lighter, more feminine and whimsical. Giving a bedroom a touch of Baroque or Rococo is easy to do. Personal preference will drive how much of the look is appropriate for you.
Another possibility is to work with a variety of colors and to make a smooth transition between the dark and light shades, with bold and colorful accents. The little touches of color often bring together everything else beautifully. To better visualize all these possibilities, have a look at the examples we’ve prepared.
To give the room a sense of warmth and elegance, I suggest looking at lamps with a nice bronze finish. They are often what vintage and antique lamps are made out of. For the more modern rooms, I recommended looking for ceramic lamps (sometimes made out of ivory also) as they are more than perfect that style of bedroom. Asian-inspired lamps (e.g Chinese and Japanese) are quickly becoming popular styles as they provide a real sense of culture and history. These lamps consist of an inner steel frames that gives the lamp shade a distinct Asian-style look.
Additionally, instead of going for primary colors which are very bold you should settle for soothing shades and some homochromatic tones. For a serene environment you should choose colors like softer shades of lavender, blue or green. Shades that are rich in jewel tones can play a vital role in making the bedroom cozy and comfortable as well. Some of these shades include toasty browns and topaz.
